Peter Saint-Andre Application 2006

I'm re-applying yet again to retain my JSF membership.

I got involved in the Jabber community in November 1999. Since then I've written documentation for various projects (jabberd 1.x, Winjab, etc.), probably 80% of the Jabber Enhancement Proposals, all the XMPP RFCs, etc. I've also been JEP Editor since the inception of the JSF in 2001, Secretary of the Jabber Software Foundation (JSF) from 2001 through 2005, JSF Executive Director since 2002, Chair of the Jabber Council for 2004-2005 and 2005-2006, etc. In addition to my official JSF duties, I run the XMPP Federation, maintain Proxy65 (though not very well, want to take it over?), administer JabberStudio, give a lot of talks and presentations on Jabber/XMPP technologies at technical conferences, etc.

I would like to retain my membership because I am still very much committed to improving Jabber/XMPP technologies and I would like to run for the Jabber Council again.

My plans for the next 12 months include finalizing the Jingle extensions, strengthening the security profile of the XMPP federation, advancing the XMPP RFCs to Draft Standard in the IETF, and running some in-person conferences for Jabber/XMPP developers (probably one in North America and one in Europe).

My email address and JabberID are both stpeter@jabber.org if you have any questions about my application.
