This page provides an up-to-date snapshot of activity related to XMPP Extension Protocols, as maintained by the XEP Editor.

Interim Versions

These are Draft and Final XEPs that are undergoing revision. All such changes must be approved by the XMPP Council before they are officially published.

XEP-0060: Publish-Subscribe

Current version: 1.13rc4

SVN diff: http://svn.xmpp.org:18080/browse/XMPP/trunk/extensions/xep-0060.xml?r1=2184&r2=3457

Status: This XEP is currently under significant revision, so it is not ready for a Council vote on accepting the modifications.

XEP-0085: Chat State Notifications

Current version: 2.1rc1

SVN diff: http://svn.xmpp.org:18080/browse/XMPP/trunk/extensions/xep-0085.xml?r1=2536&r2=3388

Status: Revisions have been completed by the author to clear up confusion regarding allowable state transitions.

XEP-0136: Message Archiving

Current version: 1.1rc2

SVN diff: http://svn.xmpp.org:18080/browse/XMPP/trunk/extensions/xep-0136.xml?r1=2088&r2=3455

Status: Revisions appear to be completed, but further review might be needed.

XEP-0163: Personal Eventing Protocol

Current version: 1.2rc3

SVN diff: http://svn.xmpp.org:18080/browse/XMPP/trunk/extensions/xep-0163.xml?r1=1238&r2=3456

Status: Probably to be updated in concert with XEP-0060.

Subdomain Cleanup

Text in XEPs 16, 45, 100, 178, 191, 220, and 271 has been adjusted to clear up confusion about the term "subdomain" in XMPP.

Explanation: http://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2009-September/022657.html

SVN diff: http://svn.xmpp.org:18080/changelog/XMPP/?cs=3447

The Council probably needs to approve these changes, but the XEPs involved might be modified in place.

Calls for Experience

A Call for Experience is issued when the Council is considering advancement of a XEP from Draft to Final.

There are no Calls for Experience at this time.

Last Calls

A Last Call is issued when the Council is considering advancement of a XEP from Experiment to Draft (or, for informational specifications, Active).

There are no Last Calls at this time.

Last Calls have recently ended regarding XEP-0227: Portable Import/Export Format for XMPP-IM Servers and XEP-0244: IO Data. These specifications are undergoing revision based on feedback provided, and second Last Calls will be issued once the appropriate changes have been made.
