djabberd is an XMPP application server, written in Perl. It was created by SixApart for LJ Talk, their LiveJournal deployment. It is an open source project released under the GNU General Public License. It is designed to be very modular and comes without much packaging.<ref name="XMPP-book">[1]XMPP - The Definitive Guide</ref>
