I am an information scientist who is interested in open-source projects. I am especially interested in tools which enhance the digital sovereignty. I started using Jabber/XMPP in winter 2000 (when I started to study information science). In 2020 I got more active in the XMPP-community. I started my blog to help non-technical people to get started with XMPP. I test a lot of XMPP apps and report bugs and inconsistencies to the developers.

I am the author of the blog eversten.net which is available in German and English.

Currently, I am working as a project manager and requirements engineer at BTC AG in Oldenburg (Germany).
