History
I've been involved with the Jabber community since late 2000. I've been a member of the XSF since it's inception in 2001, and have previously served on the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2010, and 2011 XSF Councils.
Contributions
My primary contribution has been as a senior engineer and architect of XMPP client libraries for Cisco, Inc. and a Professional Services Engineer for Jabber, Inc.. I also developed JSO (a low-level XMPP library for Java).
I have also been an author or co-author for numerous XEPs:
- Ad-Hoc Commands
- SOCKS5 Bytestreams
- Stream Initiation
- SI File Transfer
- Authenticating HTTP Requests via XMPP
- Data Forms Validation
- Publishing SI Requests
- Data Forms Layout
- Domain-Based Service Names in XMPP SASL Negotation
- Message Carbons
I am also working on couple of things in the IETF:
- End-to-End Object Encryption for XMPP
- DNSSEC and DANE for XMPP Domain Name Associations
- POSH for XMPP Domain Name Associations
Priorities
My primary goals for 2012 are:
- To help develop and promote usable protocol(s) for end-to-end encryption.
- To help develop and promote usable protocol(s) for secure delegation and federation.
- To apply my years of experience on messaging technologies to the current generation of XSF work
