My name is Eevvor - Yvo Meeres and I am applying for membership in the XSF.

About me

I am a interdisciplinary scientist in the areas of theoretical computer science and natural language acqisition.

About my nick

eevvoor

1. is an english spelling of yvo plus an r. 2. Handwritten it reminds of error. The nick error fits to me since I am very good to run into bugs in any SW, HW or real life.

My XMPP projects

Socially: I try to convince people moving away their chat activities from the global players and have to be careful to not act like a religious missionare.

Research: My colleague flammie https://flammie.github.io/ wrote a research proposal to the German research foundation (DFG) with XMPP as one of the scientific methods. We are awaiting the response of the DFG during this summer.

XMPP - Why I love it

I am interested in FLOSS, encryption and decentralisation. Thus obviously I love XMPP.
