Need to get up and running quickly? Here's how!
1. Download a free client.
2. If you downloaded client software, install it and start it.
3. If you have an existing account at an XMPP-enabled service like Google Talk (Gmail) or Live Journal, you can simply log in using that account.
3. If you don't have an existing XMPP account, log in to one of the many public XMPP services using your preferred username and your client will automatically create the account.
4. Log in and start chatting with others on the XMPP network!
NOTE: Auto-creation of accounts does not work for iChat! You must use another client such as Adium, Psi, or Spark to create your account. After that you can log in with iChat.
