Aditya Borikar Application 2020

My name is Aditya Borikar. I recently completed my bachelors degree in Information Technology from Pune Institute of Computer Technology and currently am employeed at a non XMPP based company called ACI Worldwide. There I am working as an Associate Software Engineer.

About me

I started reading XEPs when I was in the second year of engineering in 2018. Since then in my free time I have been involved with the Ignite Realtime community. My major contributions revolve around Ignite Realtime's Smack where I was able to implement few XEPs. During the last year of my undergraduate program I had the opportunity to be a part of Ignite Realtime through the Google Summer of Code '2020 program.

Motivation for application

After going through GSoC'20, I realize that I have barely scratched the surface and that there is a lot more for me to learn. I want to be a part of the XSF because I am a big proponent of both, open standards and free software. In future I want to be able to propose new XEPs and support the XMPP community.
