About Nathanael Fritz

I am an independent XMPP and AMQP consultant, owner of NetFlint, father, and XMPP enthusiast since 2000. There is something about XMPP/Jabber that has always held my interest, and I look forward to continuing my involvement with the community.

Current Community Involvement

  • Author and maintainer of XMPPHP, a PHP5 library which powers identi.ca and many other services.
  • Author and maintainer of SleekXMPP, a Python client/server library.
  • Author and maintainer of TwhiX, a XMPP library for AS3 that has proper TLS support and is XMPP 1.0 complaint.
  • I started and currently advise for SleekBot, a bot framework based on SleekXMPP.
  • I host Psi's development server and MUC room.
  • I am actively involved in discussions with XSF members about XMPP and XEPs.

Relevant Professional Experience

  • I am an independent consultant for XMPP and AMQP.
  • I helped Seesmic deploy a largescale Pubsub interface for it's users and peer services.
  • I have extensive project management experience which includes code architecture, people management, feature and bug management, and vision as CTO/Dev Lead at Bridged Analytics.

Future Community Plans

  • Development of a test suite to test server/component compliance.
  • Continue to develop and support XMPPHP, SleekXMPP, and TwhiX.

Plans As a Member

  • I will provide feedback from existing XEPs based on implementation experiences.
  • I will offer my services for interoperability testing, and contribute testing framework code.
  • I will contribute and review reference code for clients and servers.
  • I will contribute to other community members' projects to help them become more XMPP compliant.
  • I will offer my project management skills to the XSF for committees and projects.
