Current Job

I have been moving from job to job during the year, due to different personal matters, and I hope to stabilize at the current place. I am a Programmer/Analyst at the Jaume I University in Spain, where I completed my post-graduate studies last year. Current duties are related to the Jabber/XMPP deployment and e-Learning platforms. I was responsible, in 2003 as part of the compulsory professional training periods, of the Jabber deployment in the university, which meant being the first Spanish university having an IM deployed for the whole academic community.

Open Source

I am still the only developer of the [http.//ile.jabberstudio.org ILE] email checking component, which is atm in an unmaintained state.

At the moment, I am trying to get my hands on the Gajim client code, as I see a lot of potential in a multiplatform Jabber client written in Python (it can bring a lot of hacking to the Jabber community).

Community

JabberEs project leader. JabberEs aims to help the Spanish talking user community, providing forums, news and a public Jabber server.

Public Speaking

No public Jabber related speakings during this last year. Private talk at my last employer's.

Why?

Jabber/XMPP is fun and most of the community around it is really great and collaborative.
