History
I have been JSF member for three years now. I have been active in Jabber community even longer. I have set up one of the first, Jabber servers in Poland (but only a small, semi-public one) and then created the Gadu-Gadu Transport, which significantly increased Jabber popularity here.
Activities
I have started and now maintain several Jabber-related projects:
- JGGTrans (also known as Gadu-Gadu Transport), a gateway to the most popular Instant Messaging service in Poland.
- PyXMPP, a Python implementation of XMPP protocol.
- CJC, a Jabber client for text console, using the PyXMPP library.
- JJIGW, a simple gateway between IRC and Jabber, also making use of the PyXMPP library.
I gave some talks about Jabber on Polish LUG meetings, run some small Jabber servers. I participate in discussions on Jabber mailing lists, test various Jabber software, find bugs, help people with XMPP protocol (implementing it or debugging problems), etc.
Why?
Jabber has become a kind of my hobby. I would like to keep on being part of the community help in further XMPP development.
