I got involved in the Jabber community in November 1999. Since then I've written documentation for various projects (jabberd 1.x, Winjab, etc.), probably 80% of the XMPP Extension Protocols, all the XMPP RFCs, etc. I've also been XMPP Extensions Editor since the inception of the XSF in 2001, Secretary of the XSF from 2001 through 2005, XSF Executive Director since 2002, Chair of the XMPP Council for 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007, etc. In addition, I run the XMPP ICA, maintain the Proxy65 project, help administer the jabber.org IM server and the rest of the XSF infrastructure, give a lot of talks and presentations on Jabber/XMPP technologies at technical conferences, etc.

I would like to retain my membership because I am still very much committed to improving Jabber/XMPP technologies and I would like to run for the XMPP Council again.

My plans for the next 12 months include finally completing the Jingle extensions, advancing the XMPP RFCs to Draft Standard in the IETF, running a few more in-person conferences for Jabber/XMPP developers, and completing the other items on the XSF Roadmap.

My email address and JabberID are both stpeter@jabber.org if you have any questions about my application.
