I got involved in the Jabber community in November 1999. Since then I've written  documentation for various projects (jabberd 1.x, Winjab, etc.), probably 80% of the [http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/ XMPP Extension Protocols], all the [http://www.xmpp.org/rfcs/ XMPP RFCs], etc. I've also been [http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/editor.shtml XMPP Extensions Editor] since the inception of the XSF in 2001, Secretary of the XSF from 2001 through 2005, XSF [http://www.xmpp.org/xsf/director.shtml Executive Director] since 2002, Chair of the [http://www.xmpp.org/council/ XMPP Council] for 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007, etc. In addition, I run the [https://www.xmpp.net/ XMPP ICA], maintain the [http://proxy65.jabberstudio.org Proxy65] project, help administer the  [http://status.jabber.org/ jabber.org IM server] and the rest of the XSF infrastructure, give a lot of talks and presentations on Jabber/XMPP technologies at technical conferences, etc.

I would like to retain my membership because I am still very much committed to improving Jabber/XMPP technologies and I would like to run for the  [http://www.xmpp.org/council/ XMPP Council] again.

My plans for the next 12 months include finally completing the [http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0166.html Jingle] extensions, advancing the XMPP RFCs to Draft Standard in the [http://www.ietf.org IETF], running a few more in-person conferences for Jabber/XMPP developers, and completing the other items on the [http://www.xmpp.org/xsf/roadmap.shtml XSF Roadmap].
