==Backgound==
I've been developing Internet software for a couple of decades now. In 1998, I founded the [http://www.openldap.org OpenLDAP Project] and served as its Chief Architect until 2007 when I decided it was time to do something new (to me). I continue to advise the project.

I've been active in the [http://www.ietf.org Internet Engineering Task Force] since 1998, mostly in areas of Directory Services and Internet Security. I've authored/edited [http://www.openldap.org/project/kurt/publications.html numerous RFCs] and co-chaired the [http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/OLD/ldapbis-charter.html LDAP Revision (LDAPbis) WG] (now concluded). I currently co-chairing the [http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/sasl-charter.html Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL)] and [http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/vcarddav-charter.html vCard and CardDAV] working groups.

I work full time for [http://www.isode.com Isode Limited] as Internet standards and technology engineer.

==XMPP Projects==
===Code===
I am currently implementing edge processing capabilities (presence folding, malware scanning, etc.) in [http://www.isode.com Isode]'s [http://www.isode.com/products/m-link.html M-Link] product.

===Standards===
I am the author of "Security Labels in XMPP" ([http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0258.html XEP258]) and
"Design Considerations for Digital Signatures in XMPP" ([http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0274.html XEP274]).

===Plans for the future===
I hope to develop/standardize more general-use XMPP security capabilities, such as Digital SIgnatures in XMPP.

==XMPP - Why I like it==
I came to XMPP because I was interested in doing something new (to me) and I like it because I've found lots of interesting things to do.

==Why I'm re-applying==
I am re-applying for XSF membership as I'd like to continue to help guide the organization behind XMPP standardization. I very much like the open community approach to XMPP standardization.
Neustradamus
