My name is Edwin Mons (intosi, xsf@edwinm.ik.nu), I work for Isode Ltd, and I'm applying to retain my XSF membership.

History

I got interested in Jabber via Ralph very early on, but only decided to enter the (then) JSF in 2004, after a few people asked me why I was manning a Jabber Software Foundation booth at FOSDEM while I was no JSF member at all ;)

Jabber/XMPP Projects

At Isode, I work on the M-Link XMPP server. Needless to say a lot of XMPP and spec reading are involved here :)

Previously, I worked on data synchronization tools, content notification systems and production automation tools that all included XMPP as core technology.

When the infrastructure team (iteam) was started two years ago, I quickly applied for that team. I'm currently handling DNS and mail-related issues. I tend to keep an eye on the well-being of xmpp:jabber.org as well.

Plans for the future

I'll probably be entertaining the people at FOSDEM next year at the XSF booth / Real Time Lounge.

Making M-Link even more awesome.

Why I'm reapplying

For me, the XSF is the glue that binds together a community based on a protocol.
