EXI has been my primary focus over the last four years. I would very much like to get the XMPP EXI process rolling. There are a number of outstanding issues which I don't have an immediate answer for and which earlier attempts failed to address, but I believe we can and should resolve them over the next year. Given the massive benefits EXI would provide for mobile and IoT clients, I think this should be a high priority.

Overview

I have over a decade of experience working on XMPP and serve as Python's XML-SIG lead.

My current job is as a member-owner of a software development cooperative.

I've served three terms on the XSF board, if elected this will be my first term on the council.

Council Goals

I agree with and support Sam Whited and Daniel Gultsch's position on XHTML-IM. If elected to the council, I would vote to approve replacements for XHTML-IM and other outdated XEPs which threaten user security and/or overly burden developers.

My work on implementing an EXI (Efficient XML Interchange) library over the last four years, along with IoT work both for work and hobby, makes me an ideal candidate for evaluating and providing feedback on IoT XEPs.
