OMEMO Easy Guide

Encryption is a system that allows messages to be encrypted. This means that if you turn on encryption and the program used by the other person you are talking to supports the same type of encryption as you do, only you and the recipient will be able to read the messages you send; not even those who have access to the servers from where the messages are transiting will be able to read them.

OMEMO is the most widely used encryption on XMPP but there are other encryption protocols for XMPP chats such as PGP, OpenPGP and OX.
