About me

I am 41 years old French computer nerd living in the south of France. I work as a research engineer at Inria [7] on medical image processing and biophysics simulation. If you want to know more about my past occupations, look at my first application page [8].

XMPP and me

I am the maintainer of slidge: [9], a library to make IM gateways to more or less closed silos, and a few gateways based on slidge (to discord, telegram, matrix, mattermost, steam chat for the ones that work well enough for me). Sometimes I contribute to gajim [10] and small stuff around XMPP.

2026-2027

My plans:

• make slidge faster, stronger, better (our work is never over)
• write a new version of XEP-0100 (gateway interaction) because some stuff is outdated, and some stuff is missing in there (eg, groups)
• participate in discussions when I think I have some constructive things to say
• maybe attend summit/fosdem 2027
• keep on promoting XMPP usage around me to whomever is interested in privacy and/or digital sovereignty
