Background
I'm interested in decentralised, federated systems and believe that systems like XMPP will grow in importance. The realtime-ness of XMPP is also an exciting tool to use in fun apps.
I've been working on the buddycloud project for the last three years. The team is better off without my coding skills, instead I try to push buddycloud in a very easy-to-use direction.

Why I'm applying
The success of an organisation like the XSF depends on a balance of protocol work with outreach. At the moment I see very little outreach effectivness and lots of good technical work.
I would like to work on bringing XMPP to a larger audience. Some of this will come with the buddycloud work. Some will come with making XMPP relevent to the HTTP developer comunity.
