Contact Information
My email/JID is safasofuoglu {at} gmail {dot} com. You can also find me at jdev chatroom as 'huni'.
Community Involvement
My involvement with XMPP began with Google Summer of Code 2008, in which I have updated and improved BOSH support of Openfire and the flash based XIFF library.
Since last summer, I have updated BOSH implementation of Openfire's connection manager module and also made various small fixes. I am also following and taking part in BOSH discussion list where I can.
Plans for the Future
- Technical contribution - I will be becoming a research assistant this summer and I plan to choose an XMPP related subject for my Master's Thesis.
- Spreading the word - I see that the Turkish Jabber community is weak, and I believe I can change this in cooperation with my connections in Turkish open source community.
- Code - I'll be continuing to contribute to open source XMPP projects.
Why I am Applying
XMPP is a great protocol beyond instant messaging. As I dive deeper into it, I see more reasons to support and contribute. I am sure XMPP has a bright future and I want to be a part of the team shaping that future.
