About me
I've just finished my MSc at AGH-UST and started PhD studies in Computer Science there. I've been using Jabber since I remember (I think somewhere before first releases of Psi...). I am Python and FLOSS ethusiast and I share my passion at local meetings that I co-organize: Pykonik (local Python Interest Group) and Linux - works for me! (Linux-related lectures). Pages are in Polish only (which I'm very sorry about) because I live in Kraków, Poland.
Apart from XMPP I had some experience with commercial IM/collaboration tools during my internship at IBM Poland (plugins for Sametime 7.5).
XMPP Projects
Code
- I've successfully finished Google Summer of Code 2008 under XSF umbrella. The result is the working proof-of-concept of plugin system for Gajim. It's planned to be merged into Gajim after 0.13 release. In parallel to adding plugin system, refactoring of Gajim's core will be done (especially events handling).
- I'm working on XSF Memberbot rewrite. Code has been changed to act as SleekBot plugin. Final result will be almost complete reimplementation based on Data Forms combined with Ad-Hoc Commands (basic version is already functional in addition to rewritten chat-based release which is currently used during voting periods).
XMPP - Why I like it
Decentralized, heterogeneous, standardized and open way to collaborate - what could be better?
Why I'm reapplying
I want to make new memberbot mature and usable within XSF. Apart from voting itself probably admin panel will be added, gathering survey results and other required features. Within this process I want to able to communicate with XSF members easily.
