My name is Eamonn Shaw. I'm an Interaction & User Experience Designer originally from Dublin, Ireland now living in Oslo, Norway. I would like to apply XSF membership.
Affiliation
For the last 5 years, I have worked exclusively for TANDBERG, specializing in Telepresence. I have previously worked with both traditional and new social media.
Motivation
Over the last year I have collaborated closely in the planning, design and implementation of a scalable social media platform based on XMPP. I firmly believe in the role of XMPP as a powerful, realtime scalable solution that is people centric and compact. As a designer I see the role of XMPP as particularly compelling in future communication scenarios, which will demand a realtime federated Web. Within my professional sphere, I have evangelized the benefits of XMPP and succeeded in extending its influence in my company. As a designer I’m interested in functionality that promotes natural communication and reinforces adhocracy in media. I have personally seen the benefits of XMPP and firmly believe that the XSF has a critical role in securing its future success & development.
